Wesen & Opuswerk Live @
Half of us just got round playing with Wesen at the Maria am Ostbahnhof in Berlin for the Transmediale Festival.
The night there was very much amazing. Meeting some of the STFU artists in person and hearing them was a very humbling experience. Those guys do make some great music. Visuals were also off the hook, really taking you somewhere else along with the music. I'd very much recommend heading to the pages of :
Deer,
Palac,
El Fog,
NQ,
Quip,
Tilman Ehrhorn and
Wesen to listen to the broad panel of music the night proposed.
We got round recording the set with Wesen which you can download / listen to HERE
It was our first gig with the Machinedrum and very much hardware based Live being only some support. The whole setup consisted in 2 Machinedrums and 1 Monomachine (which sounds ace, made me wanna get one very badly!) We hope you do enjoy listening to it. It needs to be put a bit louder than usual due to some spikes coming out of the MDs mid set.
We do hope you enjoy listening to this set, comments are very welcomed and will help us get better at our next gig, which shall hopefully be in march.

"Martin Hirsch and Peter Prautzsch have curated the STFU night of the anual Club Transmediale Festival at Maria am Ostbahnhof, Berlin on January 26th 2009. CTM is a prominent international festival dedicated to contemporary electronic, digital and experimental music, as well as the diverse range of artistic activities in the context of sound and club culture. Since 1999 it takes place concurrently and cooperatively with the transmediale – international festival for art and digital culture, Berlin. STFU is an international non-profit open collective of electronic musicians, visual artists, netlabels and promoters who organize concerts of electronic and experimental music using the internet as their main means of communication. It is a network of groups and individuals who come together to make live electronic music events happen. Past STFU festivals have taken place in cities like Manchester, Glasgow, Marseilles, Rome, Athens, Helsinki and Heidelberg.
For CTM 2009 STFU has featured performances by Deer w/ Palac, El Fog, NQ, Quip, Tilman Ehrhorn, Wesen, Opuswerk and visuals by Liz Ainge, Jacopo Saffioti and Fabio Bonetti. STFU performed on the 2nd stage of the MOA. The first stage hosted performances by Evala, Yasunao Tone, Keiichiro Shibuya and Pan Sonic."

Due to unfortunate turnover, our release on Coincidence record will not happen. Hence we will need to find a new home for Oma and Fruhling. We wish all the best to Didier and the others behind Coincidence and hopefully a speedy recovery.
For the good news, Fa and Sechs will be coming out on PonyPlay Records in march 2009, so stay tuned for more details. It also appears that Sechs is being played by Laurent Garnier, so we hope this release will do good, and no unexpected event will forbid its release.
For some other good news, we have to shows booked for next year ! One will be alongside Wesen from RuinWesen @ the Transmediale Festival in Berlin for a show on 2 MachineDrums and hopefully his new Miduino things. The second show will be in March @ l'Ecurie. Opuswerk got ignited by the decision of Hendrik & Benoit (Onkin) to spend time in a basement making electronic music. Life matters have made it evolve until today in a solo project run by Hendrik who's biography you can find here under.
Born between Egypt and the Netherlands, architect and thinker, lover of basslines, snycopated rythms, hypnotic melodies and of russian things. My musical universe constructs itself in the same way it self deconstructs around similar structures yet different, while repetitive and full of the hale of vodka. The far North, explored during the Transmediale Festival, as well as some EPs on label such as Absolutive, Ayeko, Hope and others, also participate in the design of what goes through my ears and comes out of my alambic.
My electronic activities range from production and dj to liveacts.
